The winery is located in one of the most traditional winemaking areas in Briñas, La Rioja (two kilometres from Haro). It is set as a stepping stone on a steep slope over the Ebro River at the base of Sierra Cantabria, including wonderful views to Conchas de Haro and Peñas de Biliblio.
The building was born in a lineal development and it is buried in terraces down to the Ebro, adapted to boundary lines but breaking away from the classic bodega.
The grapes we receive at our bodega come from vines over twenty years old situated in the Sonsierra area, near the Sierra de Cantabria, consisting of small plots some of which are difficult to access and the altitude limits growth.
Our more emblematic plots are: the plot on the location called Mocotero which surrounds the winery building and, Los Quiñones with over seventy years, situated known by the name of La Fonsagrada, where a necropolis and a small demolished hermitage from the 11th - 12th century are to be found. It is believed that at that time both formed part of the monastery.
