TOBELOS WINES
Wines from Upper Rioja and Rioja Alavesa
made with grapes from Briñas, Labastida, San Vicente de la Sonsierra and Rivas de Tereso.
Tobelos White
2020
Tobelos White is a wine made from three varieties of white grapes from Labastida, San Vicente de la Sonsierra and Briñas.
Ideal with white meats, seasonal vegetables and blue fish.
Winemaking
Each variety ferments in a tank of different material and shape, all of them with their own lees. The Sauvignon Blanc is fermented in a concrete egg, the Garnacha Blanca in a small stainless steel tank and the Viura / Macabeo in new 500 and 225 litre French oak casks.
Ageing
Only the Viura / Macabeo is aged for 6 months in new 500 and 225 litre French oak casks.
Colour: Lemon yellow with silver iridescence.
Nose: Good aromatic intensity with fruit as the protagonist. Primary aromas of pear, apple, grapefruit and peach stone, followed by notes of white flowers and accompanied by sweet spices.
Palate: Great intensity of volume throughout, with freshness, balance and length for enjoyment. Fruity aftertaste with spicy notes more evident.
Serving temperature: Between 9ºC and 11ºC.
Tobelos Rosé
2020
Tobelos Rosé is a wine made from a blend of white and red grapes.
The grapes come from three small vineyards located in Briñas, Labastida and San Vicente de la Sonsierra.
Ideal with rice, pasta, bivalve molluscs and fish.
Winemaking
Fermentation in 1,000 litre stainless steel tanks at a very low temperature.
Colour: Pale salmon pink.
Nose: High aromatic intensity with the flower as the protagonist. Primary aromas of rose petal and white flower, accompanied by grapefruit peel and wild fruits.
Palate: Volume throughout, with freshness, balance and length. Fruity aftertaste with citrus and stone fruit notes.
Serving temperature: Between 9ºC and 11ºC.
Tobelos Grenache
2020
Tobelos Grenache is a single varietal red wine from a cold area that clearly conveys the expression of the terroir. Ideal with pork, lamb, duck or pheasant stews.
Winemaking
Fermentation in small truncated cone-shaped concrete tanks.
Ageing
12 months in French oak casks of second wine and 500 litre capacity.
Colour: intense cherry colour with fuchsia rim, very well covered.
Nose: high aromatic intensity, excellent fruit expression and complexity. Predominance of red fruit, with sweet strawberry, hints of scrubland herbs and spicy tones.
Palate: Good attack on the palate, with volume and freshness. Balanced and long.
Serving temperature: Between 16ºC and 18ºC.
Tobelos Crianza
2018
Tobelos Crianza is a single varietal red wine. Its grapes come from Rivas de Tereso, San Vicente de la Sonsierra and Labastida. It is a very versatile wine, it can be served with red meats, game, roasts, poultry, white meats, ham, charcuterie, cured cheeses and blue cheeses.
Winemaking
Grouping of homogeneous plots to ferment in stainless steel tanks at a low temperature. stainless steel tanks at low temperature.
Ageing
12 months in 225 litre casks of French oak 70% and American oak 30%.
Colour: well covered cherry red with ruby rim.
Nose: intense on the nose, with aromas of red and black fruit accompanied by spicy notes, cinnamon spicy notes, cinnamon, cocoa and cedar.
Palate: good entry, with a well-balanced passage from start to finish. Tannins
Well-integrated acidity and long persistence. Very round, fresh and fruity.
Serving temperature: between 16ºC and 18ºC.
Tobelos Reserva
2015
Tobelos Reserva is a wine made with grapes from San Vicente de la Sonsierra and Rivas de Tereso.
Winemaking
Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in truncated cone-shaped concrete vats.
Colour: Garnet red, clean and bright.
Nose: Intense on the nose, with aromas of red and black fruit such as blackberry and blackcurrant, accompanied by spicy notes, cinnamon, cocoa and vanilla.
Palate: good entry, balanced from start to finish. Pleasant tannins, integrated acidity and long persistence. Very round and balanced.
Serving temperature: between 16ºC and 18ºC.
Tahon de Tobelos Reserva
2015
Tahón de Tobelos is a single varietal red wine made with Tempranillo grapes from old vines.
It is an unhurried Reserva, ideal to accompany lamb cooked in any way, red meat, chicken, vegetables and even fish when barbecued.
Winemaking
Fermentation in small truncated cone-shaped concrete tanks.
Ageing
18-20 months in 225 litre casks of 50% French and 50% American oak.
Colour: deep cherry red with violet hues.
Nose: aromas with good intensity, black fruits, spicy, toasted and a mineral background that gives complexity to the whole nose.
Palate: balanced, tasty with good structure. Well-integrated acidity that brings freshness and a broad fruity finish. Spicy, mineral and liquorice notes in the retronasal passage.
Serving temperature: between 16ºC and 18ºC.
